Face paint: Day 30/365

This week is circus week at my daughter's preschool and today they had face painting in her class. She was so proud of her little butterfly and made sure no one touched it so it wouldn't rub off.

Just my girl: Day 29/365

Due to the lovely weather today, we were forced to spend some time outside. I didn't hear any complaints from the kids and even managed to get my daughter to look straight at the camera. The sun has amazing powers I'm convinced.

Torture: Day 28/365

I took doughnuts to my daughter's preschool class today and hoped they would not return home with me. Unfortunately, 6 were left to taunt me through the day as I attempted to avoid their yummy chocolate goodness.

You better not take it: Day 27/365

I love the little scowl on my son's face here. I just imagine him thinking "You better not take my sippy or my balloon or I'll cry."

The joy of presents: Day 26/365

Today was my daughter's 4th birthday and I love the look on her face after she opened her first gift. The look of happiness melts my heart.

More 4-year old picture attempts: Day 25/365

Again, another reason I really should call a pro to get these pictures finished. At least I can laugh at these and remember this was exactly who she was at 4-years old.

How to keep him entertained: Day 24/365

My little man has been sick which means he is pretty much glued to me at all times. Normally, I don't mind but when I am fixing dinner that doesn't work. So, I found him a spoon and bowl and he entertained himself for a good 20 minutes while I cooked.

Poor little teething boy: Day 23/265

Poor little man had a ton of toys to chew on in his pack n' play while I worked. Instead, he chose the railing of the pack n' play.

Sick day: Day 22/365

Being almost 4 means you really don't slow down for much unless something is wrong. So, I knew my little girl didn't feel good when she asked if she could lie down on the couch and cover up with a blanket for a bit.

Brush, brush, brush your teeth: Day 21/365

My daughter loves to brush her teeth by herself. Unfortunately, she just does not do a great job of brushing them by herself yet so my husband or I usually have to brush them for her. She always asks if she can do it first and then lets me take over so I grabbed a shot while she focused so hard on brushing the germs away.

Tell me what you really think: Day 20/265

I attempted to do my daughter's 4-year old pictures. I always have good intentions when it comes to doing my children's portraits. But, then I get facial expressions like this and remember why I usually throw in the towel and hire a pro.

A preview of 15 years from now: Day 19/365

My son received a riding toy and a toy phone for 1st birthday. So, he wanted to sit in the car while he played with his phone. I am already dreading the day this is a real phone and a real car. Sigh...

Arts and crafts time: Day 18/365

This is my dining room table on a Friday night around 9:30. So, I can't blame this on my 4-year old. Nope, this mess was all mine as I finished up last minute decorations for my son's 1st birthday party.

BIg, fat disappointment: Day 17/365

It's been almost 2 years since we've seen snow in the Charlotte area. So, we were all giddy with excitement when the forecasters started calling for snow. This was the weather map at 8:35 pm and that little dot shows that I was firmly planted in the middle of a ton of rain. We did finally see a few snow flakes mixed in the rain around 10:30 pm but still completely disappointed in the outcome.

Story time: Day 16/365

We recently switched bed time routines, meaning my husband does my son's bed time now and I take care of my daughter's. I love seeing my husband reading to him. Its just too sweet.

After bath happiness: Day 15/365

The little man loves to take a bath. He loves it so much that getting a picture of him looking at me while taking a bath is impossible because he is too busy to look at me. So, I grabbed this picture after his bath instead.

He's One: Day 14/365

For the past year I have done a monthly picture of my son to show his growth and changes. I was dreading this day because I am a little sad that my last baby was turning one. But, seeing his smile and happiness while I took this picture reminded me not to be sad but enjoy what being one means.

She was so proud of herself: Day 13/365

My husband and I gave Aubrey a bike for Christmas. I was worried if she would like it after she made the statement in November she didn't want a bike. However, said bike had already been purchased and she really did need to learn to ride one so we kept it and hoped for the best. She loved the bike right off the bat because its covered in her favorite princesses, but the love sort of ended when she tried to start riding it. She has gotten a lot better over the past few weeks and this picture was taken right after she said "Mommy, I'm doing it!" Made us both so proud.

I wish I woke up this happy: Day 12/365

I love going in to my son's room after he wakes up. He is always so happy to see me and it never fails to bring a smile to my face.

Date night, the parental style: Day 11/365

My husband and I do go out on real dates from time to time. But, for the past almost 4 years, the majority of our date nights are on the couch with a movie. Tonight was another excellent date night that even included a nice beverage for us both.

I got her laughing: Day 10/365

Moms of 3-year olds know how hard it is to get their kids to look at you when you want to take a picture, let alone smile. So, there aren't a lot of pictures of my daughter recently where she is doing one of these, let alone both. Unfortunately, I still can't take credit for this smile. Her little brother was grabbing her very ticklish feet which had her laughing so I quickly jumped up on the table to get a picture from above and was shocked to see she is looking at me and smiling. Almost feels like a bucket shot these days.

Work, work, work: Day 9/365

As I was working today, I kept thinking about what my picture of the day should be. About 4:00 pm I realized I should photograph my not so glamorous work area since I spend 10 hours per week sitting there. I admit I will miss this little area when my job ends in a few weeks. I've worked from this desk for the past 16 months and been at this job almost 5 years. So, when I turn in that crappy computer and give the desk back to its owner, I will be a little sad. It will be the start to a new era for me so I made this picture a little more nostalgic for me to remember it by.

The joy of having a big sister: Day 8/365

I am sure my son will love this picture when he gets older. My daughter decided he needed to wear her crown in order to play with her today. I am sure he will learn to deal with her shenanigans and and put his foot down as he gets older. But, for today he was just happy she let him play with her and that made us all happy.

Napping puppy: Day 7/365

Our dogs always make me laugh when I work out downstairs. They will usually jump on the couch and curl up for a nap while I jump and sweat like a fool. However, every time I try to get a picture of them asleep Bailey usually pops her head up just in case she might miss something. I was able to trick her today by grabbing my phone during the stretching part of my DVD and waiting to take a picture after she went back to sleep.

With Words: Day 6/365

Only 6 days in and I struggled with my picture today. Nothing really inspired me or captured my day. So, I went to this site to get some inspiration and the theme was "with words." Being that its Sunday, I thought about the word being the Bible. So I went to my Bible and just let it open where it wanted to see what struck me. My eyes immediately focused on this verse and amazingly, its a verse I really needed to see right now. Its funny how that works.

Just who she is: Day 5/365

Before my son was born, we got out all of my daughter's old toys to get them ready for son's arrival. My daughter was much more fascinated and willing to play with his toys than her own and this trend continues a year later as she is playing with a few of his cars. I also laugh because she wanted to "fix" her own hair today and you can see the results. Ahh, the joys of being 3.

My little big girl: Day 4/365

This is my little girl who thinks she's a big girl. This picture helps remind me she is both. I put her chair on the couch while I was working out and later found her relaxing there while she played a game.

Spaghetti is yummy: Day 3/365

My 11- month old loves to eat. He loves it even more when he gets to eat what we eat, which doesn't happen often because he has a dairy intolerance. Tonight, we let him eat spaghetti with us and I think he just slightly enjoyed it.

Relaxing at the end of the day: Day 2/365

Wednesdays are my work day. I work 10 hours/week at my part-time job and cram all 10 hours into 1 day. So, Wednesdays start early and I am beat by 7:30. I was excited to see a new magazine come in the mail today and after dinner was so glad to be able to relax and read a few pages before doing the nightly chores.

And so it begins: Day 1/365

Its 2013, y'all! Happy New Year!! I set 2 New Year's resolutions this year. The first was to complete this 365 day photo challenge. The 2nd was to lose enough weight to fit into my bridesmaid dress for a June wedding that is currently 1 size below what I wear now. So for today's photo, I combined the start to both of those resolutions.
