1st Build-A-Bear: Day 88/365

While at the mall, my daughter convinced me to let her go in the Build-A-Bear shop. I really wasn't going to, but she said she would use her allowance to buy something, so against my better judgement we went in. Of course, her choices ended up being more than the allowance she had, so I kicked in some extra, but it was so worth it to see the happiness on her face.

Because you always need cool sunglasses: Day 87/365

I took the kids to our neighborhood park, which is a close 2nd to getting ice cream in the level of excitement my daughter shows when you tell her the park on the agenda. She loves to play on the rings and do "gymnastics." I asked her if she wanted me to hold her sunglasses while she played and she answered "No, mom. You always have to wear cool glasses when you do gymnastics outside." Lesson learned.

Our 2nd home is still fun when you're 1: Day 86/365

Lately, it seems I am going to the grocery store 3 times a week and it does often seem like a 2nd home for us. It seems like such a mundane thing for me, but it always seems to be exciting for my son. He loves to look at all the bright colors and displays and seems thoroughly entertained the entire time we are there. I guess at this age everything is exciting.

Airplane flying: Day 85/365

My daughter and I were playing the old flying airplane game where I lay on my back with my feet in the air, and she puts her belly on my feet and pretends to fly like an airplane. Such a simple little thing seemed to make so happy.

Never too big: Day 84/365

I caught my daughter sitting in the Bumbo (with her shoes on the wrong feet, her doing, by the way) and told her she was really too big to be sitting in that seat. Her reply "Mommy, I'm never too big." Alrighty, then.

She loves all animals: Day 83/365

My husband needed to get some schoolwork finished and that is sometimes hard to do with the kids underfoot. So, while my son napped I took my daughter out for some entertainment. PetSmart always has cheap entertainment for the kiddos, aka looking at the animals up for adoption. We spent 30 minutes there while she loving stared at the fish, cats, rodents, and birds and at each new cage she would ask if we could take it home. We have 2 dogs at home already so the answer was always not today. But, it didn't stop her from asking each time and didn't seem to damper her fun, either.

Just because I had to: Day 82/365

My daughter pulled out the dump truck for my son to play with today and I couldn't resist taking a picture of him in it because I did the same thing with my daughter when she was his age. He didn't look too thrilled with me.

Now this is more fun: Day 81/365

After the incident yesterday where my son wasn't happy about being handed a toy instead of being pushed around on his toy, my daughter pushed him around for a good 10 minutes. He loved it every minute and this face says it all.

But I don't want to play doctor: Day 80/365

My daughter handed my son her stethoscope to try to appease him after she stopped pushing him on his walking toy. Needless to say, it didn't appease him very much.

A dress for sleeping in: Day 79/365

My daughter would wear a dress 24/7 if we would let her. When she discovered there are special dresses (aka nightgowns) just for sleeping in her mind was blown and she has become obsessed with them.

Look at my camera, Mom: Day 78/365

My son and daughter were playing blocks and my daughter made a "camera" to take pictures of my son and me. I can only hope she loves photography like I do as she gets older.

Reaching for his sister: Day 77/365

Ordinarily, I wouldn't be sharing this picture. But, seriously, its the only one I took this day. My son saw my daughter walking by during her gymnastics practice and he was reaching through the slats to get to her. Sweet moment, but terrible picture all around.

Something green: Day 76/365

I honestly forgot to take a picture until late this night. It was St. Patrick's Day, so I grabbed a green scarf and decided my poor terrier would be my model. If looks could kill, I might have been dead after taking this.

Pure happiness: Day 75/365

My son loves to be outside and finally the warmer temperatures allowed us to be outside. He was in heaven.

This was my Friday night: Day 74/365

Not what I'd consider a fun Friday night. But, a necessary evil.

14 months: Day 73/365

He was such a happy boy for his 14-month picture.

In my lap for a story: Day 72/365

My son loves to crawl in my lap if I am sitting on the floor. This time, he crawled in my lap with a book for story time.

In deep thought: Day 71/365

The little man looks deep in thought, but really he's just chewing on his finger since I was mean mommy and took this paci away.

Pre-spring pictures picture: Day 70/365

My daughter's preschool was having spring pictures so I grabbed my own camera and snapped a picture before I dropped her off at school.

Cuddle time on the couch: Day 69/365

Seeing the members of my family cuddled up on the couch watching cartoons just melts me.

A little bed time reading: Day 68/365

My daughter loves to "read" and can recite many of the stories from her favorite bed time books. She looks so serious reading about Little Bear.

Snack at the big table: Day 67/365

I didn't have time to wash my son's tray before he wanted snack so I just pushed his chair up to the table and let him eat off there. He was so confused at first, but then thought he was quite the big boy for eating snack from the table like his big sister.

Peek-a-boo: Day 66/365

My son loves playing peek-a-boo and he loves his blanket. So combining his two loves just made him happy. He played this way for a solid 5 minutes and grinned the entire time.

Little stinker: Day 65/365

Little guy has decided that he doesn't like me taking his picture as much so whenever he is doing something cute and notices that I have the camera out he decides to come charging at me to play instead. So, I have tons of pictures like this where he insists on sitting almost in my lap.

Band time: Day 64/365

My son's favorite activity of late has been beating a bowl with a spoon. My daughter decided to up his fun by introducing him to the joys of a metal pan. The noise level in my house has been awful ever since.

Snuggled in for bed: Day 63/365

This is how my daughter insists on going to sleep. Not sure how its comfortable but whatever makes her happy makes me happy.

Just being silly: Day 62/365

I was getting ready to go out and noticed my daughter wearing my scarf and was afraid she would trip over it. So, I tied it around her like I wear it and resumed getting ready. The next time I turned around she had climbed in my tub to hang out. I wish I could know what she was thinking when she does these things.

In a funk

I didn't quite expect this to happen this early in the year. Usually, I get in a photography funk around November/December. I am sure it has to do with being stuck inside and all that jazz. But, for the past week or two, I just haven't felt inspired to use my DSLR. I've forced myself to take pictures, but they have been with my phone because it is close by and quick, which is why many of the pictures of late haven't been the greatest quality. I am so ready for spring and to be outside for a change in scenery. The weather has finally started to warm up here so I hope that will let us be outside more and inspire me to do more with my camera.

1 month down: Day 61/365

I started Insanity the first time 3 months ago and was forced to take a 6-week hiatus after week 3 because of a knee injury. So, I re-started the program again in February and I love to be able to check off each workout after I complete it. I was so excited to be able to check off the last cardio day of month 1! Only 5 weeks to go.

Cookie monster: Day 60/365

At 4-years old, my daughter is still every bit a messy eater as she was at 1-year old and has no desire to be neater. After her snack, she was showing off her cookie crumb mouth and fingers.

Possible lefty on our hands: Day 59/365

He loves to draw on his sister's magnet drawing board and is using his left hand more and more when he draws. His daddy is thrilled to have another lefty in the family like himself.

Not quite ready: Day 58/365

Little guy is not quite ready to walk on his own, yet. However, he got one of those noisy walker-type things to use when he is walking and he loves to hear it go pop-pop-pop. So, he just rolls it around to hear it make noise.
