This is how she learns to read: Day 235/365

My daughter spent an hour in this same spot while she intently worked on the pre-reading game on the iPad. That's quite a feat for a 4-year old.

Mom's shoes are better: Day 234/365

My son loves shoes but has a hard time getting them on his feet. So, he was quite fascinated when he could slide his little foot into my flip flop with ease.

One more picture before we say good-bye: Day 233/365

We took one more picture of the cousins together before my nephew and his mom flew back home. We miss little guy already.

In his favorite place: Day 232/365

We took a trip to the children's museum and my son had a blast enjoying his favorite place, the water.

Cuddletime: Day 231/365

Every once in a while my children will be still long enough to cuddle in the blanket. This was one of those rare times.

Nephew silliness: Day 230/365

My nephew looks so much like my brother (his dad) and this picture reminds me of my brother being silly at his age.

Being silly: Day 229/365

You know that eery feeling you get when your children are too quiet. My daughter was watching tv and my son got too quiet so I walked around the corner expecting some huge mess. Instead I was greeted with this silliness after he dragged their chair to the wall to prop his feet up and eat his snack.

Cousins reunited: Day 228/365

My brother, his girlfriend, and their 5-year old came to visit us for the first time in 3 years and Aubrey was so happy to have a cousin her age here to play with.

KIds and technology: Day 227/365

My kids both love electronics and technology so this is a common scene around our house. At least its all educational.

First frozen yogurt: Day 226/365

TCBY started carrying frozen yogurt made of almond milk so we let my son try it since he can't have the dairy in regular frozen yogurt. I think he liked it from the look on his face.

Cute even when he's in trouble: Day 225/365

Even when he's supposed to be in trouble, I can't help but laugh at how cute my son's little scrunched up face is.

18-month session: Day 224/365

I finally did my son's 18-month photo session  and I love how sweet this picture turned out.

Pretty yarn: Day 223/365

This is the yarn for my current crocheting project. I just love the colors and thought they needed a proper picture to display their prettiness.

Family paddleboarding: Day 222/365

My husband and I found a new hobby in stand-up paddle boarding this summer. We rented boards for the day and went out on his parents' boat for a ride. We decided to let our daughter ride on the front of the board and she loved her new view point in the water.

In the drawers: Day 221/365

We've always left 1 row of cabinet drawers unlocked and open for the kids to play in. My son has always been fascinated with emptying those drawers, but he took his fascination to a new level and decided sitting in the empty drawer was great fun.

A picture at the request of the princess: Day 220/365

My daughter doesn't often ask me to take pictures of her, so when she does I am happy to oblige. Here, she asked me to take a picture of her dressed in her princess garb while she posed. She was happy and so was I.

All wrapped up: Day 219/365

I often wrap up in a blanket in the morning because our downstairs is pretty chilly. My son has developed quite a fascination with the blanket I used and will scramble to get himself wrapped up at the same time.

So focused: Day 218/365

My daughter doesn't often sit still so I love watching her do things that force her to be still and focus. She works so hard and watching her do that is amazing.

Up close with the giraffes: Day 217/365

We took a weekday trip to the NC Zoo and one of the exhibits will let you get up close and personal with the giraffes and even feed them. It is amazing how tall and beautiful they are in real life.

Taking the wheel already: Day 216/365

We attended a party at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and there was a race car simulator for the kids to enjoy. My daughter wanted to drive it so the operator pushed the gas pedal for her and she focused on steering. Just makes me realize I am nowhere near ready for this to be a real car anytime soon.

Learning to love the grill: Day 215/365

My husband has a love affair with his grill. He loves to spend the warm summer weekends at his grill. I on the other hand, have no desire to stand at a hot flame and cook. So, he shared his love of the grill with our son, who seemed to be quite fascinated with the whole thing. Future grilling buds indeed.

Bright shoes: Day 214/365

I took my daughter back-to-school-shopping and quickly learned my days of picking her clothes are coming to an end. She didn't like any of the shoes I picked out but loved these bright pink pair, so of course the bright pink pair made their way into the cart.

Goal set: Day 213/365

Somewhere in July, I started thinking running a half marathon sounded like a good idea. So, I set the Thunder Road Half Marathon as my goal. I may need my brain checked for thinking this was a good idea.

Watching America's pastime: Day 212/365

My husband and I are Atlanta Braves fans so the game is usually on in the summer evenings after the kids go to bed. This day, the game was on before bedtime and we caught our son watching the game and was fascinated with it.

Princess beauty day: Day 211/365

We did a "beauty day" in our house recently, including manicures, pedicure, and fancy hair dos. My daughter decided she needed to wear her princess garb for her beauty day so it became her princess beauty day.

Family walk: Day 210/365

We actually took a walk with the entire family so I had to document this occasion. Getting 2 dogs and 4 humans together for 1 walk is usually a challenge but this night everything worked in our favor.

Crazy Socks: Day 209/365

I was lying in bed when I realized I had no picture of the day so I started thinking of things to inspire a picture. I happened to look down at my feet, saw my crazy socks and said BINGO. So, there you go.

Electric Run memorabilia continued to entertain: Day 207/365

My daughter thought the memorabilia from the Electric Run made great toys the next day.

Electric Run selfie: Day 207/365

My husband and I did the Electric Run in Charlotte and had to take a self to commemorate the occasion.

Sunglasses are entertainment: Day 206/365

I was looking for something to entertain my son while I was strapping him in his car seat and my daughter handed me her sunglasses and that did the trick. He thought they were awesome.

Head above slide: Day 205/265

I get a little bored with my camera at our neighborhood playground area because I have a million shots of the kids doing the same things on the same equipment. So, I noticed my daughter's head just barely peeking over the slide and thought to myself "Finally, something I don't have a picture of."

Smiling despite being scared: Day 204/365

I had to take my daughter to the doctor to get a spot checked on her ankle and she was a little nervous after watching my son get shots at the doctor the week before. But, she put on a brave face and even obliged her mom with a smile when asked.

My dogs are lazy: Day 203/365

My dogs are pretty darn lazy. So lazy that they can't even be bothered to get up off the floor to sleep on their dog beds. Bums.

The cobbler must be awesome: Day 202/365

The little guy was pretty excited to have his first batch of blueberry cobbler.

Bright and striped: Day 201/365

I was in Target looking for my outfit for the Electric Run and I found these socks in the girls' section and thought they were perfect to finish the ensemble.

Friday relaxation: Day 200/365

After a long, tough week a fruity beverage in the redneck wine glass was just what the doctor ordered.

Freedom: Day 199/365

Now that my son has learned to unzip zippers, he is quite enjoying freedom from his sleep sack in the mornings.

I think he liked the rice: Day 198/365

Since my son can't have certain foods because of intolerances, he doesn't often get to try new foods. When he does get to try them, he wolfs them down as fast as possible and makes a huge mess. Hence, the rice ending up all over him.

The joys of a sandbox: Day 197/365

My kids both like playing in the dirt so their minds were just blown when I showed them a sandbox at the park built just for kids to play in.

If I can't ride, I'll just push: Day 196/365

Since my son can't quite ride a bike yet, he decided that pushing it around is the next best option.
